Sad News from Congregation Agudath Sholom Thursday, November 17 - 11:15 PM

Congregation Agudath Sholom Sad News
One of the highest mitzvoth in our faith is burying the dead.  The Talmud teaches that the concept of a met mitvzah ( a person for whom there are none or few people to bury him/her) supersedes almost all others. Through the return of the body to the earth, the neshama, the soul is freed and at peace.

Tomorrow, I am officiating at two graveside funerals at 11 AM for Yehuda Ferits and 12 PM for Lloyd Marcus at the Agudath Sholom cemetery.  Their families are small and your participation in the mitzvah of their burial would be most appreciated and very meaningful.  If you can join in this mitzvah, please send me an email (rabbicohen@cas-stamford.org).

Wishing the Ferits and Marcus families comfort among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and may we share happy occasions together in the future.
