Sad News from Congregation Agudath Sholom (Shiva Update) Monday, December 2 - 12:15 PM

We are deeply sorry to announce the passing of Walter Shuchatowitz, z"t"l "Mr. S.", father to Avrom Shuchatowitz, Robert Shuchatowitz and Phyllis Lander, husband of Jackie Shuchatowitz and the late Deena Shuchatowitz.
Shiva is being observed at the Shuchatowitz home, 38 Morgan Street through Thursday morning following minyan until 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Minyan times are as follows: 
  • Monday - Wednesday: 7:00 AM and 4:10 PM
  • Thursday: 7:00 AM 
Jackie is sitting Shiva until Thursday morning at 1085 Westbury H, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442. She can be reached at 954-449-3715.
Please contact Sharon Baer (sbaer60@sbcglobal.net) if you would like to assist with shiva meals. 
May Avrom, Robert, Phyllis, Jackie and their families be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

We are deeply sorry to announce the passing of Walter Shuchatowitz, z"t"l "Mr. S.", father to Avrom Shuchatowitz, Robert Shuchatowitz and Phyllis Lander, husband of Jackie Shuchatowitz and the late Deena Shuchatowitz and founder and dean of Bi Cultural Hebrew Academy. Our shul and community are eternally grateful and forever indebted to him. His legacy lives in us and future generations. 
Shiva will be observed at the Shuchatowitz home, 38 Morgan Street beginning Saturday night at 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM and Sunday through Thursday morning following minyan until 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Minyan times are as follows: 
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM and 4:10 PM
  • Monday - Wednesday: 7:00 AM and 4:10 PM
  • Thursday: 7:00 AM 
Jackie will be sitting shiva on Saturday night and Sunday at 406 Wilson Street in West Hempstead, NY and Monday through Wednesday  at 1085 Westbury H in Deerfield Beach, FL.

We are deeply sorry to announce the passing of Walter Shuchatowitz, z"t"l "Mr. S.", father to Avrom Shuchatowitz, Robert Shuchatowitz and Phyllis Lander and  founder and dean of Bi Cultural Hebrew Academy. Our shul and community are eternally grateful and forever indebted to him. His legacy lives in us and future generations. 

In the words of BCHA, "he was a Teacher,  Builder, Leader, Mentor & Friend.  Mr. S was far more than our school's founder and founding principal, he was our father, grandfather, mentor and guiding soul.  He was the voice that told us we can do better, he was the neshama who helped us dream of what our school and community could be. 
He was a true gadol whose life and legacy will live on for generations."

The funeral will be on Friday, November 29th at 10:00 AM
Agudath Achim Cemetery, 19 Washington Street, Woburn, MA

Shiva will be observed at the Shuchatowitz home, 38 Morgan Street beginning Saturday night at 6 PM until 10:00 PM and Sunday through  Thursday morning following minyan. Shiva visiting hours begin after morning minyan and end at 10:00 PM

Sunday 8:00 AM and 4:10 PM
Monday - Wednesday 7:00 AM and 4:10 PM
Thursday 7:00 AM

We are sorry to announce the passing of Annette Block, mother of Liba Steinmetz and Stephen Block.
The funeral was today, Thursday, November 28, at at Mount Judah Cemetery, 81-14 Cypress Avenue, Ridgewood, NY.
The family is sitting shiva at Liba's home, 44 Newfield Court today through Friday at 2:00 PM and resume Saturday night at 6 PM until Wednesday morning following minyan. 
Minyanim are as follows: 
Today at 4:15 PM
Friday at 7:00 AM 
Sunday at 8:00 AM and 4:10 PM
Monday and Tuesday 7:00 AM and 4:10 PM
Wednesday at 7:00 AM

We are sorry to announce the passing of Irwin Metviner, beloved husband of Estelle Metviner, father to Neil, Jonathan, Alexander, David, and Monica Blatt, grandfather to 14 and great-grandfather to 1.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, November 27 at 10:00 AM at Congregation Agudath Sholom (301 Strawberry Hill Ave in Stamford) followed by burial at the CAS Cemetery.
Shiva will be at the home of Alexander Metviner (38 Sunset Drive, Weston CT) on Wednesday from 1 pm - 7 pm and Friday from noon - 5 pm.
May Estelle, Neil and their families be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
