As we prepare to enter Yom Kippur this evening, I want to wish you and your families a Gmar Chatimah Tovah and a meaningful and uplifting Yom Kippur.
One of the most striking messages of Yom Kippur comes from the Haftarah we will read tomorrow: “Share your bread with the hungry.” Isaiah reminds us that the holiness of the day is expressed not only through fasting and prayer, but through how we respond to the needs of others.
Today is the final day of our CAS Food Drive benefiting the Schoke JFS Freedberg Kosher Food Pantry. If you have not yet had an opportunity, please bring non-perishable food items to the shul today when you come for Kol Nidrei. As we prepare to fast, let us help feed another family.
