Rav Simcha Schustal zt'l Rosh Yeshiva, Yeshiva Bais Binyomin

Congregation Agudath Sholom Sad News

We are very sorry to announce the passing Rav Simcha Schustal zt'l
Rosh Yeshiva, Yeshiva Bais Binyomin.

The Rosh Yeshiva's funeral will begin this morning in Lakewood, NJ and will arrive at Yeshiva Bais Binyomin, 132 Prospect Street at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Israel.

When traveling in Israel or parts of our country and I mention Stamford, the first words are often "Bais Binyomin and Rav Schustal". With the passing of Rav Schustal, our city is losing a great Torah luminary.

Whether you knew Rav Schustal or not, the levaya is an opportunity to give honor to Torah in our community and fulfill one of the most important mitzvot in Judaism of levayat hamet (escorting a person at a time of a funeral). Even simply standing on Prospect Street at the time of the funeral is a significant sign of honor and respect.

May we grow as a Torah community and may Hashem grant the entire Schustal and Bender families (who will be observing shiva in Lakewood, NJ) comfort among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
